Extravagant And GloriousAll right, it’s got the usual profusion of Morgan Blayde low-level errors. The formatting has some glitches in it, too. But this story of a super-agent committed to the service of a future Imperium is so good that I simply can’t down-rate it.
Chim and his “sidekick” Elissa are the most magnetic and original characters to hit science fiction in many a year. Though between them they’re nearly omnipotent, and have been entrusted with essentially limitless authority, they exhibit a judicious yet creative restraint that demands a huge degree of suspension-of-disbelief...yet they’re so endearing that you can’t help but give it to them.
Along with that, Blayde’s Imperium and its several worlds are unique and immensely appealing. Chim’s picaresque adventures, as he plies his trade as a Galactic super-fixer and roving righter of wrongs, are greatly enhanced by the variety and color of the settings.
The novel’s unity is provided by a present-time envelope against which Chim’s exploits are narrated as past events. That envelope also provides the path to a gigantic surprise climax: one that few readers will begrudge the intrepid X-class agent and his beloved.
This one gets my highest accolade: I wish I’d written it, but I know I never could have. Bravo!

Really like this authors other works and very much enjoyed this story. Feels like this is a one and done as the end seems kind of final. But very much enjoyed it and hope some more will follow.
This is a great book! Chim and Elissa are great characters, and I hope to follow more of their adventures. I feel like this author is getting even better with each book he releases. I have thoroughly enjoyed each of his books!
The author had a lot of novel ideas for this...welll...novel. I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would because of this creativity. Some of the sub-plots could have been fleshed out into whole books. I especially enjoyed how his relationship with his computer kept progressing, along with the surprising ways this occurred. Overall I was sad when the book ended. I would definitely read other books by this author.

This was a great book that flowed from chapter to chapter each with a different mission yet combining to make a unified book. The characters were complete and fun to get to know. Truly was much better than what I imagined.
My first review since my grasp of english is not very good. But this author and his books is too good to not write about. Author surely know what he's writing about, his language is crisp and clear and the story line is easy to follow and engagning. It's such a rewarding experience to find such gems from self-published author. A solid A for this foray in the sci-fi genre. Hope for more books to follow, as well as in the demon lord series that's just brilliant too.
First I have to say, this is far different from the other two series I have been reading - not as violence and sex and the writing is a little cleaner. And the story line seems to be very different from previous books. All of that being said, it was a twisted journey, really lots of separate short stories, all woven into an interesting tale. In my opinion, none of it was predictable at all except the twist at the end, just before you get there but then that might just be me.
In the final analysis - another in the series of Morgan Blayde books that I thoroughly enjoy. I'm not sure how he might make a series out of this but I hope he figures it out as it will be worth following for at least one more book.
