If this book did anything for me it let me know that we as adults hold a sincere obligation to let young girls know what it means to be violated. We hold the obligation to show them that true love doesn't hurt. I cried for Torey as she ripped through life with the prowess of a nymphomaniac. This book reminded me of the movie Black Snake Moan. I wanted to shake Torey right through the pages of the book during the times where her scandalous ways made her leave true love by the wayside.
An area of opportunity for this new author would be to work on building the sex scenes into sensual scenes. The biggest misconception about the Erotica Genre is that it's all sex and it's far from that. It's the way you get there. The journey to love and passion is what intrigues readers of this genre. I would also suggest to build the character and scene development a little more. There were times where I didn't know if the setting was Memphis, Knoxville or Louisiana. I needed to know how the story got there. I struggled at times to see what the actual story line was outside of sex. Nonetheless as the author continues to polish her craft her stories will develop and flourish.
